Book your mover — good crews are gone first for month-end dates. Order packing materials and start with off-season clothing and storage closets.
4 weeks out
Schedule utility transfers with Oncor or your retail electricity provider, city water, internet and trash. In much of DFW, internet installation is the longest lead time — book it now.

Confirm your crew size and arrival window in writing. Send your leasing office or HOA the certificate of insurance. Reserve the elevator and loading dock if you're in a building.
1 week out
Finish everything except daily essentials. Defrost the freezer, use up perishables, and pack an open-first box: tools, toilet paper, chargers, medications, coffee.
Move day
Walk the empty home with the crew lead, check every closet and the attic, confirm final hours, and get a signed copy of the inventory or bill of lading before the truck leaves.
