Peak season runs May through September
School calendars and lease cycles push more than half of all DFW moves into late spring and summer. Demand is highest, availability is lowest, and every reputable crew books out two to four weeks.
October through March is the value window. Same crews, same trucks, easier scheduling, and you're not loading a truck in 102-degree heat.
Avoid the last three days of the month
Leases turn over on the first, so the 28th through the 31st are the busiest days in the industry. If you must move then, book three to four weeks ahead and take the earliest arrival window offered.
Moving in Texas summer heat
If a July or August move is unavoidable, start at 7am. Have a cooler of water available for the crew, keep the AC running at both homes, and expect the pace to slow after 2pm — that's physics, not laziness.
